Warren's 1986 Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance

My car is a 1986 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance, white body, white vinyl roof with dark blue velour interior. It has the 5.0 litre motor and has been converted to dual petrol and LPG.

The car was privately imported from San Diego in 1989 where it was owned by a local garage owner who only drove it about 3 miles per day. After arriving in Australia the car spent the next seven years off the road being converted to right hand drive (as a hobby by the guy who imported it).

When the car was completed in 1996 this guy sold it to a limo company who did the LPG conversion and used it as a chauffered limo for VIP's mainly between the City and the Airport for a year before selling it to me. The car has done only 23,000 miles and is in showroom condition.

I have spent the time since owning the car restoring a whole bunch of little things back to original condition plus seals and brakes that had deteriorated due to the long years of non use. The car had already been fitted with a complete stainless steel exhaust system. The car is basically my hobby and I intend to drive it on fine weekends and Club days when possible. I am a member of the Cadillac LaSalle Club of Australia.

This car won a 2nd place trophy in the Post 1980 class at the 15th All American Day, Castle Hill, 25th January 1998.
